A Winter storm dumped heavy Snow on Michigan on saturday morning and Snow showers extended East through the Ohio Valley to new England. Snow also fell in Pittsburgh upstate new York and Maine. Four inches of Snow had fallen by Early Friday evening at Marquette mich., and More Snow was expected Over Michigan and Wisconsin. Winter storms also were forecast in West Virginia and Maryland. By Early Friday evening Snow showers extended from new England across the great lakes the Ohio Valley Northern Minnesota and the mountains of Eastern Oregon. In the West at midday on Friday rain extended Over Central through Southern California and West of the Rockies. As much As 2 inches of rain fell on parts of Eastern Kern county calif., flooding some Mojave desert roads. Rain with occasional thunderstorms hit Arizona and Western new Mexico causing local flooding in Phoenix. Scattered rain showers were expected later saturday Over the Rockies heavy Snow was called for in Northwestern Pennsylvania and parts of Cape cod mass. Forecasters called for temperatures in the single digits and teens in the great lakes area the 20s in new England and the Northern Plains the 30s in the mid Atlantic states the 40s in the Northwest Midwest and Southeast the 50s in California and Texas and the 60s in the southwestern deserts South Texas and Florida.
