For an intermission a discussion of Les miss Rables is appropriate. Hugo a 1,500-Page novel appeared in 1862. It tells the Story of Jean Valjean a Man imprisoned 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread. Once released he trades his past for a life of Good but his history continues to follow him just As does javert the fanatical policeman Bent on returning Valjean to prison. Hugo stale is stuffed with messages. It discusses society a injustice toward the poor. There is a tilt in favor of prison Reform within the books pages. It is a giant in world literature.
