The Bond Market had been rallying since president Clinton unveiled his economic package last month hoping that the new administrations ambitious plan will be successful in cutting the burgeoning budget deficit. Strong Bond prices meant lower interest rates and Low yield on the Long Bond. Ron Doran director of institutional Trad ing at cd. King amp associates in Albany n.y., said that a the Low interest rate scenario is very helpful for  he explained that Low Bond yields a make equities attractive to investors looking for higher returns on their invest ments while Low interest rates encourage investors to refinance their  but the Stock Market was split by opposing forces at weeks end when a surprisingly Strong employment report put a break in the Bond Market rally Ana sent yields rising. The Dow managed to finish the week however with a Strong gain. For the week the Dow Jones Industrial average which rebounded 1.46 percent or 48.63 Points the previous week a jumped another 1 percent or 33.77 Points to 3404.58 for a two week winning Streak. Among the Broad gauges the new York Stock Exchange composite Index Rose 1.91 to end the week at 245.99 and the Standard amp poor a 500 Index climbed 2.73 to 446.11. Advances outnumbered declines 1,544793 among the 2,655 issues traded. On the nose trading floor for the week Rwjr Nabisco holdings paced the big Board actives easing Vic to 8%.philip Morris was third losing 2v2 to 64%. A tobacco issues came under Selling pressure wednesday after sen. Bill Bradley d-n.j., and rep. Mike Andrews a Texas proposed to raise Federal cigarette taxes from 24 cents to $1 a pack. Among some of the Blue chips Chrysler fell % to 39, Merck lost 1 to 37v4, ism Rose % to 55vi, at amp to Rose % to 56v4, general motors gained 1% to 39 and Citicorp eased i to 2614. \ volume of nose listed issues including trades in stocks on regional exchanges and in the Over the counter Market totalled 1,561,466,101 shares compared with 1,763,790,982 traded Dur ing the previous week and 1,213,984,322 a year ago. On the american Stock Exchange the Macx Market value Rose 6.96 to 413.80. Advances led declines 493-325 among the 979 issues traded for the week. 1ch led the Macx actives rising i to 6%. In Over the counter trading the National association of securities dealers composite Index jumped 10.60 Points to end the week at 681.37.
