While each of the services already has programs to help abusers and their victims the Pentagon is seeking an Overall policy for All the branches. Yet the officials said coaxing both victims and abusers out of the shadows is a Tough sell since Many military families believe asking for help Means a discharge for the service member. Defense department records show that military members who sought counselling for family violence problems have been involuntarily released at a slightly higher rate than their counterparts. How Ever officials said that the risk of discharge is slim and that they Arentt sure if reported abuses directly Lead to discharges. A perceptions will kill you a a said army col.
