Dancing around an Issue country is not where you Are from what kind of clothes you Wear or How you talk walk or dance. It s in your soul and spirit. It s in the Way you take Pride in what of do both personally and professional. It s seen in the person who can show love affection and a sense of caring about a number of things such As nature family and All other people either less or More fortunate than him herself. That a my definition of being coun try and the Way i was raised. I be always vowed to never let Down those who taught me these Fine values. Line dancing. It s a group of people who congregate on the dance floor and As the term to dance is found in the dictionary move one s feet or body or both rhythmically in a pattern of Steps especially to the accompaniment of hey people that just described every kind of dancing known to Man did t it line dancing is seen in almost every Type of club and is performed by All Dif Ferent kinds of people. Although it was t very popular in the cd scene until the late 80s, i m sure it s going to be around for a while. Here in Germany and probably most of the european theater we have some extremely Small and crowded dance floors. When people Are line dancing it leaves Little room if any for those who wish to two step Jitterbug or dance any other kind of couples dance. I for one Don t like to line dance. I prefer the More personal aspect of Cou Ples dances. By the same Token i have to admit that line dancing in today s cd scene is truly a spectacle to be seen. Country dancing is going to be around i feel for a Long time to come. Whether it s in a line or with a partner it s some thing to be enjoyed by All who participate in it. R hopefully we can All retain and pass Down the values that accompany it. John rape Wiesbaden Germany groups All Law enforcement officers into the category of unpunished sure there Are bad apples in every bar Rel i attempt to make no excuse for the actions 0f those individuals but to judge an entire group for the actions of one reflects the Type of narrow minded thinking that perpetuates racial hatred and Dis criminal become civilly disobedient because of the actions of one individual among literally thousands of Law enforcement officers is completely asinine. As for the number of maps spa in the Kmic the writer can rest assured that there Are far fewer Law enforcement offi cers serving and protecting in the 1,000 Square Miles of territory that is the Kmic than in the 69 Square Miles of washing ton . Comparing maps spa to the German Polisei is like comparing apples and oranges. The Polisei Are a reactionary Force they come out after the fact. The . Forces police in the Kmic Are proactive preferring a higher profile to deter crime before it happens. I m admittedly biased but our Way seems to be the Best Way to serve this Community and i m sure there Are those who will agree. When i look behind the badge i see. Highly trained skilled professionals committed to protecting a Way of life and willing to ask their life for what is important to Many but appreciated by few. I suggest the writer look deeper behind the badge and this time open his eyes. Staff sgt Roger d. Samsoo Jelweh Germany go slav policy. If the serbs of Bosnia will not willingly secede from Yugoslavia the nation of their birth and resubmit to the Rule of muslims who oppressed them for Over 500 years we will Force them to do so by airstrikes and economic sanctions. If the serbs will agree to secede from Yugoslavia and join a nation that does not did riot and probably never will exist we will Reward them with nominal control of 49 percent of that nation. Since serbs constituted the majority in roughly 64 percent of pre civil War bos Nia the reduction in territory will be considered the Cost of having won the War. Once the serbs of Bosnia Are safely re turned to Muslim Nile the serbs of Croatia will be similarly persuaded to sever their Bonds of birth with the yugoslav state thus preserving the concepts of self determination and democracy in Europe. Have i missed anything of substance. Think not. John s. Crossette Grafe Wohr Germany it s in the mail i m Short. There Are Many things about Europe i will miss when i return to the United states. The absolutely abysmal service provided by the Apos in Europe is not one of them. In the six years i have been stationed in Germany i have cancelled my subscription to military history Magazine As i Seldom received it. I have seen at least 30 percent of my mail mis routed so that it gets to me late. It is mid August the August Issue of a Magazine i receive has yet to reach me. Friends of mine in the United states and an acquaintance in Switzerland have called to Tell me about an article in this Magazine. Today aug. 12, i received a letter a Friend in the United states mailed to me on the 3rd of August con Taining the Magazine. I find it unacceptable that i still have not received this Magazine yet people elsewhere not Only in the United states but in Europe not Only received it but also were Able to mail it to me before my copy shows up the Apos should think about Chang ing their device from the a shield to snowflakes and a Jar of molasses cause they sure Don t move any faster than molasses in january. Wayne Remes Giessen Germany High profile policing after Reading looking behind badge aug. 8i Felt i had to set a couple of things straight concerning the Law enforcement in the Kaiserslautern military Community in general and Security Mili tary policemen in particular. I believe the writer of that letter has made a serious error in judgment when he police hated loved having been a military policeman for Over three years i was deeply angered by what the writer of looking behind badge aug. 8 had said both directly and indirectly. I found his letter to be full of malice misunderstanding and prejudice. He wrongly assumes that All officers of the Law Are pistol packing trigger Happy bullies who Long for the Chance to blow away that speeding violator. He uses sgt. 1st class Jeffery Brady acquittal As an example of How maps spa Bend the rules to serve our diabolical purpose. Sgt. 1st class Brady i remind you was found innocent in a military court martial trial. The writer also raises the question As to Why he sees so Many maps in the Kaiserslautern military Community. The reason is that the maps spa because of the draw Down now cover an area of operations to larger than los Angeles More than 1,000square Mil Sand our police station is in Vogel Weh. We Are constantly in route to and from the Kmic. Obviously the writer does t have Many friends in the police Force because he does t seem to realize the Long hours we work not Only performing Law enforcement duties but also training for wartime missions not to mention the contempt we endure from some of the 70,000 Kmic residents. Granted there Are probably some maps spa who Are below Standard but every Job has these types of people. We do a Job that riot Many people would want and we do it with professionalism. Police officers in general Are hated when we re not needed but when trag Edy occurs those same people who hated us Are the ones who Are glad when Wear rive. When you Call the maps spa unpunished criminals. Because you disagree with set. 1st class Brady s verdict you Are judging a group of people based on the actions of one arid that s prejudice. Unpunished # one who lives in a Glass House should not be the first to cast stones. Spec. Christopher m. Smith Kaiserslautern Germany Energy policy failing i am writing to agree with the writer aug. 3 who correctly identified the key reason the Gulf War was fought Oil. Some May not wish to believe that we fight for anything other than democracy Freedom and human rights. Unfortunately often the opposite is True. Our nation often becomes involved in conflicts that if the True motivations were known would seem highly questionable to say the least. Wars such As the one in the persian Gulf remain inevitable unless the United states gets rid of the perception that it is reliant on Oil imports. America is capable of being Energy self sufficient and has been for a longtime. Take a Short trip Back to the states and look around while you re there. Cars Are getting bigger again Speed limits Are starting to creep Back up in some areas More efficient gasoline vehicles or alter native fuel vehicles Are few and far be tween. When such vehicles Are debuted they Are touted As impractical or else priced far out of the average person s ability to pay for them. Research and development of new technologies that will decrease our need for the Black Gold should be a hot topic. Very rarely Are these types of developments on the front Page of any major newspaper. Don t be so naive take the blinders off educate yourself and become aware of More than just your own Little space. E.
