The Black Middle class grew. Soon Blacks and Whites went to school together even in the South. They drank from the same fountains used the same washrooms worked next to one an other. And yet., racism did not go away. Part of the reason that it did not is that although we were near one another we continued to not know one an other very Well. Our two cultures never really meshed and culture includes history How Many White people have studied any form of Black history not Many and still it s usually White people who set the curriculum in our schools. The truth is that it should t matter whether that Young Man knew who Rosa Parks was. What he did was wrong a crime and it deserves punishment no matter who the victim was. But the truth is also that if he had known about Rosa Parks if he had been Given an education that included Rosa Parks in it then he might also have known other things too such As the value of a person no matter the person s color.
