My husband and i were Best friends with a neighbor couple for several years. I lost my Hus band and was alone for 27 months. Then the neighbor s wife died. After a while he and i started to see one another. It was wonderful to have company again. We were compatible in so Many ways. But unfortunately he was married to his in Laws. Many of the same rules apply As the ones you listed for women who go with married men. I m sure they will sound familiar 1. Never make plans to be with him on holidays. He must be with his in Laws because that s the Way it Al ways was. 2. Never plan to go out on Friday night. That was their night and he can t seem to break the habit. 3. Don t let his in Laws know that you Are dating him steadily. They would t approve. They believe the memory of their daughter should sustain him forever. 4. Don t go out with anyone else. Stay free in Case he wants to see you. 5. Don t be surprised when he dumps you for some one who is More like his it just happened to me. Nowhere and boiling in Maryland dear boiling what an o. Henry ending thanks for the Short course. Dear Ann Landers i am a 15-year-old girl who needs to find out if i am Overly modest crazy or what. My father is an avid Tennis player. Whenever he returns from a Tennis game he Heads for the boiler room to take off his sweaty clothes. He then comes upstairs Stark naked and walks through the living room. He often stops to ask me questions such As How was your Day or what have you planned for this evening his nakedness embarrasses me and i can t Deal with it. Is this Normal for a 43-year-old father he seems to think so although i Don t. I am the youngest child and the Only girl in the family. Mom has seen this and has asked dad to wrap a Towel around himself. He refuses. I wish you would print this letter so i can put it on the refrigerator and let him know How much this both ers me. Thank you. Waiting for a cover up in . Dear waiting your father s exhibitionism indicates that he has a real problem and your Mother s indifference is nothing Short of infuriating. You should t have to put up with this garbage. If you Are old enough to Register disgust you surely can find the courage to say dad i hate it when you run around in front of me naked. Cut it if he continues to behave like a creep walk immediately into another room and freeze him out for several Days. Hell get the message. Writer says Philippines never got Aid thanks for the misleading claim of the United states that philippine officials Are demanding unreasonable increases in . Foreign assistance As rent for Clark airbase and Subic naval it has Given everyone a Chance to demean the filipinos and imagine How dependent they had become on the United states. The simple truth is that for a Long time the Philippines has not had any of the elusive Aid the United states disclaiming to have Given to it. Indeed the United states has for decades been looked upon by the filipinos As a Good provider and Friend. But maintaining to have Given them Aid for the bases they never tasted is purely publicity and false and unfair. One should remember when talking about . Sup port president Ferdinand e. Marcos. It is he the unite states right hand in Asia and Good Friend that they should question about their Money. For the Philippines snot Marcos and Marcos is not the Philippines. Yes millions of dollars of Aid if Aid is synonymous with rent for the bases seems like a line of a popular son that now has become so irritating to the ear. The Back Ward Economy of the Philippines is so obvious that any one can question the Validity of this claim. The United states is now shouting to the world that the philippine government is overcharging it for the bases. Have the Many years of the United states faulty dealing about the bases with Marcos been Given any account the present philippine government surely is aware of this excessive charge. However this could be just one Way of emphasizing that the main Issue Here is not rent forthe bases. It is an Appeal to help preserve the Freedom threatened by communism. And they Are hoping that the United states their Long time trusted and biggest Friend and so called Leader of democratic nations could under stand them. Apparently she could not. Instead it threat ened this impoverished nation to take the bases out hence cutting any More Aid is this one Way of saying that the Philippines could not stand without the United states it is my opinion that it is High time for the unite states to keep its hands off the Philippines. Leave the people alone to reorganize themselves. As for the billions of dollars debt creditors should not seek payment fro where the Money did not go at All. Communism i strongly believe a Good godly and honest government will Al ways find a solution for that. Spec. Rogelio b. Guillermo Neu Ulm West Germany motive of Fonda s apology questioned i read with great interest the recent article on Jane Fonda s apology for her trip to Hanoi and he statements about the pos. I am not sure How this sort of thing is supposed to work. I suppose that her taking 16 years to apologize allows me 16 years to consider accepting it. The main question that is going around in my head is Why did she apologize one has to wonder if she i doing this for monetary reasons instead of regret knowing that her past actions and resulting negative comments have gotten her exercise clothing taken out of a Large Chain of department stores her video tapes no longer advertised or offered by a major Magazine loss of Money in the movie Industry plus other such actions toward her products. If Money is her motivation then the american ple will have to judge for themselves the Type of person she is. If regret for the pain she has caused is her motivation then she has taken a big step toward heal ing some old wounds and is a bigger person for it. However she stated that she was proud of most of what she had done so i guess she has no regret for calling us monsters and baby another thought since the Side she worked for won i wonder if she is proud of the fact that the North Vietnam Ese have killed hundreds of thousands a lot of the women children and the elderly broken up families and life styles and placed All the people under their control i poverty. Maybe she would like to go Back to North Viet Nam and Call them monsters and baby the Vietnam War will always be a part of our All did what we thought was the Correct thing to do. We must live with that decision for the rest of our lives. That fact should be food for thought for current an future demonstrations. Demonstrations Are a tool that our society provides its people with but As with an tool it should be used wisely because it can do either Good or bad. I went to Vietnam and did what the leaders of Jane Fonda s society asked me to do. I Hope i did nothing that i need to apologize d. Reader sees great truths in Rowan Story the recent Story about columnist Carl t. Rowan shooting a teen age intruder reveals some great truths. First although adamantly outspoken about taking everyone else s handgun away from them or. Rowan made it Plain that he wants one to defend his , or. Rowan feels that he is special and has a particular need for a firearm which is not duplicated in the population at Large. Second or. Rowan a fairly Law abiding person with no known ties to the underworld had no trouble obtaining a handgun despite the toughest local anti handgun Law in the United states. Obviously then True criminals with the desire to obtain a weapon will certainly get one through the underworld stolen guns smuggled guns or crudely manufactured zip guns. It seems that or. Rowan has two standards one for himself and one for everyone else. Perhaps he should give up journalism and open a to ministry although i fully support or. Rowan s desire to Owna firearm to protect his Home and family. I would condemn his use abuse of that firearm. According to the stories printed in the stars and stripes confronted his intruders after he had seen police vehicles arriving at his House. This confrontation led to the wounding of a teen age trespasser. The use of a firearm is a last resort to prevent the death or injury of yourself your family or another defenceless person. Or. Rowan was locked inside his House the police were arriving he was in no danger until he aggravated the situation by confronting the trespassers. The result was a youth with a Bullet wound in his hand and or. Rowan with a wound in his judge ment and perhaps a fatal shot to his credibility.
