Mccarthy said he had objected to the two thirds Rule and had argued with Presser about it. He also said he had disagreed with Presser s plans to have the Union endorse gov. Michael s. Dukakis for president. Uniss ends consulting contracts in woke of probe new York not the Uniss corp. Said tuesday that it was undertaking several corrective actions in response to a government investigation of the company s military contracting practices. The maker of computer and military equipment said that it had terminated All consulting contracts with those who had represented Uniss before the govern ment and that it was placing new management at the surveillance and fire control division in great neck n.y.,on Long Island. The company added that it was put Ting six Uniss employees on administrative leave while determining whether they had engaged in improper activities. In a letter to employees w. Michael Blumenthal the company s chairman said Uniss began its own internal investigation last fall of one of its military contracting divisions. The Uniss internal investigation focused on the use of consultants by the surveillance division according to the letter. Last month investigators served search warrants at the Homes and offices of several current and former Uniss employees and the founder of the Long Island aerospace political action committee which has made Campaign contributions to congressional candidates. A spokesman for the company said that he did not know whether All of the employees placed on administrative leave worked for the surveillance Divi Sion. The division which makes naval radar and warning systems has 2,500 employees and had revenues of about $300 Mil lion in 1987. It is one of six Uniss groups at the great neck location. Benjamin n. Smith 18, and Laura a. Bachman 19, agreed to perform 40 hours of Community service because of their involvement in the june 14 incident in which they swam uninvited in Rowan s backyard Pool officials said tuesday.
