At his trial ministers and his children a school administrators testified to his Good character since the late 1970s. But a military judge did no to let Lozano off the Hook completely. Lozano was sentenced to two months in jail at a Navy jail in Philadelphia fined h2,000, demoted to airman Basic and give a dishonourable discharge. If Lozano does no to pay the Fine he must serve six More months in jail the judge ordered. Demuth said the government did not prosecute Lozano for desertion at his july 18 trial because no such charges were filed against him within three years after he disappeared As required by the statute of limitations.
