Bureau Raf upper Heyford England five upper Heyford airmen who were on temporary duty in saudi Arabia helped to save the lives of four people involved in a two vehicle Accident there last month according to a . Medical official. Three people All saudis were killed in the head on Accident that occurred oct. 17 on a two Lane Highway near Dhahran in Eastern saudi Arabia. The victims were the vehicles Drivers and a baby. A we were heading out to the Beach when we came across this Accident a said staff sgt. Michael Gesick a 30-year-old Bellingham wash., native who was among the rescuers. A there was a head on collision Between a big Buick and a Toyota  both vehicles were still smoking when the americans arrived Gesick said. They discovered one person in the Buick who was dead. A family of six was in the land Cruiser. The Buickus rear Axle was broken and the land Cruiser was on its Side with most of the windows broken and doors jammed. Gas and Battery acid were leak ing from both vehicles said senior airman Steve Justice 20, from Mcminnville Ore. A we All acted on instinct a Gesick said. A we hardly talked to each other. Everyone just picked something and did  then Gesick and Justice along with sgt. Dave Lehane sgt. Kevin Healy and airman 1st class William Tucker pulled six of the seven Accident victims out of the mangled vehicles and provided first Aid in estimated 110-degree heat. They also radioed for help and stayed with the injured people until ambulances arrived and directed traffic around the Accident scene. A they did All the right things and moved everyone correctly a said air Force maj. Phillip Duchamp medical group commander for the 4404th composite Wing provisional Dhahran in a prepared statement. A although the father and infant died the actions of these men undoubtedly saved the lives of the  Gesick is assigned to the 79th fighter so. Justice is with the 42nd aircraft Maint unit. The other airmen Are with the 42nd electronic combat so. Most of the rescuers have returned to upper Heyford since the Accident
