Brittany s most famous and perhaps most Beautiful City is St. Malo which shares a Peninsula with Canale. The fortress City at the Mouth of the Ranee is famous for the narrow streets of its old Quarter and its distinctive ramparts that were started in the 12th Century. The port is a favorite departure Point for Day trips to the Channel islands primarily Jersey and Guernsey. The Emerald coast Road skirts the Shoreline beyond St. Malo and runs toward fort la Latte a 13th-Century Castle connected to the Mainland by twin drawbridge. Visitors who climb the Castle Tower Are rewarded with a panoramic View of the rugged shores of the Bay of Frenaye. From the ramparts of the fort to the left is Cap Frehel generally regarded As the most Beautiful Extension of the Brittany Peninsula. Great stretches of the Cape s Clifftop Are carpeted with Waist High Heather shrubs and Briars. Farther West on the coast is lie de Brehaut one of the most picturesque Breton islands. Brehaut with its red Granite rocks is reached by a 15-minute excursion boat ride from the Dock at Pointe de i Arcouet. At port Clos the chief Harbor on the 2-mile-Long twin islands of Brehaut you can rent a Bike to explore the Shoreline. Back on the Mainland and continuing Down the coast it is Only a half hour drive to Perros Guirey  town and a popular Stopover. Nearby Plo Manach and tre Gastel Are noted for the massive Rose and Grey boulders that dominate sections of the Shoreline. The Granite formations continue All the Way to Trebe Urden another half hour away. A less explored Section of coastal Brittany is the Abers Region West of Perros Guirey. It is in the Abers Breton for Estuary that the Atlantic joins the English Channel. The Region is unaccustomed to mass tourism and overshadowed by the Fame of Brest the greatest port of Brittany located at the base of the Abers Region. The traveler who wishes to bypass City scenes and concentrate on coastal villages should skip Brest and head directly for the most remarkable Section of the Brittany coast Cape Sinzun and its unique tip Pointe Duraz. The Raz is a moonscape of rocks and boulders set atop 200-foot Cliffs. Winds constantly sweep the Cliffs and on Stormy nights residents say the Boom of the Waves against the rocks at the Point can be heard 10 Miles Inland. The water which pounds the Northern Raz Shoreline is baie Des trespasses or Bay of the dead. The prevailing currents bring offshore debris into the Bay and in the Era it if the great sailing ships the bodies of coastal Shipwreck \ victims regularly floated into the Bay and onshore giving tire Waters the distinctive name.
