A Strong storm system that brought the first heavy snows to the Rockies was moving into Northern California and was expected to cause heavy Rains along the coast and snowfall in higher elevations. Avalanche danger was High in the Washington Cas Cade Range and the olympic mountains after several Days of snowfall and High winds. The same system was expected to cause showers in the Plains on saturday. Another cold front stretching from Texas to the great lakes Region was causing extensive showers. A third cold front reached into the Dakotas. In East Texas warm tropical air colliding with the tall end of the cold front was causing severe storms. Winds of More than 70 Mph and heavy rain Friday night and Early saturday caused traffic accidents and literally blew people across the Field at a High school football game in Maypearl 35 Miles South of Dallas.
