The year-old already was missing three Teeth when she sat Down to have lunch with a reporter. But she did t expect to lose another while she was explaining How much she wanted the role of Susan Walker in the remake of Miracle on 34th Street. ". Y Mara ended up valiantly trying to control the tears that spilled unchecked whenever she took a bite of her food especially one of her favourites a sourdough Roll a. Yyi by y y it s my tooth Mommy my she wailed to her Mother Suzie who was trying to eat feed Mara s baby sister Anna and prompt Mara who was t really interested in talking about the movie because she was really really  it hurts it hurts Mara sobbed. Pull it can you y y. Y,.-. . /. Her mom reached Over and yanked several times. The front tooth was Loose and flopping around but no amount of pulling budged it at that Point. In the Best tradition of the show must go on Mara went Back to trying to eat talk and gulp Back tears As she described How she pleaded with her Mother to let her audition for the part in the Christmas movie. Mom did t want me to do it because she did t want me to feel bad if i did t get the part but i kept on begging and finally she gave in. I auditioned and i thought i did Good enough. I did t feel like i got the part though because they had rewritten the part of Susan As a boy named  producer and writer John Hughes was so impressed with her Reading however that Mara beat out thousands of children in a nationwide search to win the role. He told ire that he had never had a child actor bring life into a script like Mara her Mother said. Y but she agrees that Mara s experience playing the youngest daughter in mrs doubt fire with Robin Williams and a major part in a television film a time to heal also helped. As it turns out Mara does not believe in Santa Claus because her family which includes three Brothers is jewish and does t celebrate even the non Christian parts of the Holiday season. It was easy playing like i did t believe because i Don to she said of her role in Miracle on 34th Street. But it was hard pretending i did believe in him at the end. I really had to work at  Mara also had to work at not letting boredom get to her sometimes she confided. It was fun when we were filming but sometimes we had to sit around and wait and wait and wait. Then when it was my turn to act they d serve the food and i would t get anything  she also did t like some of the dialogue and asked on her own for it to be changed. I did t think a girl would say you forgot to sew up the tur key s butt so they changed it to Bottom and in the place where Susan says she wants a baby sister for Christmas i thought a girl would want a baby brother not a sister so they rewrote that line  wants to continue acting for a while even though she had to put up with tedious hours that she filled by playing with other child actors drawing writing stories and doing Homework. I missed my teacher she s a second grader at Theodore Roosevelt elementary school a Public school in Burbank Cali but i met a lot of Nice people especially sir Richard Attenborough who plays Kriss Kringle in the movie. The place where he 20th cwt Fyfo yes Mara Wilson there is a Santa Claus played by Richard Attenborough in Miracle on 34th Street. Talks to the Reindeer is my favorite part of the   -. V a by a. But her movie experiences have been enough fun that  of a Hollywood career when she grows up on the other Side of the camera. I d like to write scripts or be the person who chooses the music for movies. My mom says that s the producer or director so maybe i la think about  she began again on the Clam chowder eating a Little before it was time to meet with someone from the David Letterman show. She turned to her Mother. Where is the tooth i have to have the tooth or the tooth fairy won t come.".,". Y ".  Suzie Wilson showed Mara the tooth assuring the youngster that even if she lost it the tooth fairy would know the tooth came out in Seattle. The tooth fairy knows everything Mara said. Not every big Deal coming to movie Heaters is going to be As spooky As Arnold Schwarzenegger get Ting pregnant in Junior which reunites him with twins costar Danny Devito. Other comedies on the schedule include movies starring Tim Allen the Santa cause Steve Martin mixed nuts and Kee Nan Ivory Wayans a Low Down dirty shame. Serious films include two stories about sexual harassment disclosure and Oleanna. Jodie Foster will do a dramatic turn As a mysterious Recluse in Nell. And Tommy Lee Jones will take a look at the dark Side of baseball legend Tycobb in the biopic Cobb.
