   European Stars and Stripes (Newspaper) - December 11, 1994, Darmstadt, Hesse                                Question what does the 50th anniversary of world War ii Battles mean to you Jorge Timmons Mannheim Germany i had a Grandfather on one of the ships so it helps to recognize him and All the  soldiers of the 83rd inf div in Bihain Belgium before attacking germans during the Battle of the bulge in the Winter of 1944-45. Wylie Miller Naples Italy i was 7 years old and i remember my father shot off a Rifle in the Yard on be Victory in Europe  Daniel Bronstein Mannheim Germany my grandmother lived in France. It was great to see the allies liberate her  Sarah Townsley Mannheim Germany the commemoration of the Battles reminds people of Why . Forces Are in  Dustin Letim Preus Mannheim Germany it s great and important that we remember those ideas and ideals that were fought for on those  tre Sutten Mannheim Germany it s great that All those people gave their lives. It s Good to see All those people at the  Cassius Mitchell Mannheim Germany a lot of the Battles of world War ii. Where hundreds of thousands died showed the pointlessness of  spec. Gerald Stanford Frankfurt Germany it makes me think of the freedoms that people obtained after that War. After the War a lot of people were  spec. Timothy Smith Frankfurt Germany v nothing. It was too Long ago. I have no family members that i know of who i lost in it. Although i sympathize with those who did. People Are like yeah we won nobody won if we lost one  Petty officer 3rd class Jerome Horn Naples Italy my Grandfather was in world War ii so i always think of him fighting in those Battles. He passed away before i was born so i never g6t to hear him talk about it but my dad told  Bob Lawing Naples Italy i m a Veteran of most of the landings in the italian theater so it Means a lot to me. I go to the Anzio memorial every year to Honor our fallen comrades. And i Honor them in my heart 12 months a  sgt Michael Ford binding in Germany my dad was in world War ii. He fought for Freedom and peace and All that. And i guess we re All Here trying to keep it that Way. And those ceremonies Are a reminder of  staff sgt. Francisco Ramos Marquez Frankfurt Germany i Don t think it s a Celebration that we americans dropped two nuclear bombs. To me it s just cheap  David Whitehawk Naples Italy i did t make the landings at Salerno or Anzio but i came in at Taranto in Southern Italy from North Africa.
