Elliott who had been in front in just two other races this year passed Allison on the inside going through turn one to take the Lead on the 148th Lap. The race was marred by a spec Tao ular three car crash that sent Darrell Waltrip a Chevrolet rolling end Over end at least six times on the infield. The crash stripped away the Hood roof and trunk from Waltrip a car which Camejo rest on the Drivers Side door. Waltrip was conscious when he was taken to a Hospital for tests officials said. Boat Driver Daniel Brossoit of St. Timothee Quebec and a Spectator were killed in the Accident during qualifications for the North american championship in the Brand prix class in which boats reach speeds of More than 130 Mph. According to race organizers Brossoit a hydroplane lost control on a Straightaway and flipped in the air. It was hit by a hydroplane driven by defending Champion Jinmy King of the United states. King was tossed from his boat and knocked unconscious. His boat crashed into the wharf and exploded. King was pulled from the water by spectators Proulx said. A a Daniel a boat flipped and was broadside by King a Proulx said.
