Los Angeles still two games behind Atlanta in the National league West kept Pace with the streaking braves As Belcher 9-8 earned his 11th shutout in 112 career starts and his first since a one hit Triumph Over Pittsburgh on july 21 of last  Belcher pitched his second Complete game and first since april 25, lowering his Era to 2.54. He walked none and had a season High 10 strikeouts including Ryne Sandberg three times. Belchers first Jam came in the fifth inning on George Belles one out single and Shawon Dunston shit and run single with two out. Stan Belinda and Rosario Rodriguez finished up Rodriguez getting the final out for his first major league save. Giants 8, cardinals 3 san Francisco Bud Black pitched six Strong innings and drove in two runs to help himself break a personal four game losing Streak and Lead san Francisco Over slumping St. Louis cardinals. The giants who broke a five game losing Streak handed the cardinals their third straight loss. St. Louis dropped seven games behind no East Leader Pittsburgh. Mets 3, reds 2 Cincinnati Charlie of Brien Hom ered and Howard Johnson and Keith Miller singled Home runs As new York Ted Cincinnati a four game winning snapped Streak. Charles Nagy 8-11 beat the White sox for the second time in six Days and for the third time this year. Steve Olin pitched the ninth for his ninth save. Alex Fernandez 6-12 lost his fourth straight  6, Angels 2 Milwaukee a Bill Spiers and Jim Gantner each drove in two runs and the Brewers beat the Angels for manager Tom Trebec Lhorne a 400th Victory. Bill Wegman 10-6 tied a career High by winning his fourth straight decision. All nine runs came on six homers. Rickey Henderson homered twice and Jose Canseco also connected for the a a who won for the second time in seven games. Mickey Tettleton and Pete Incaviglia hit Home runs for the tigers. Canseco who earlier tied Cecil fielder for the major league Lead with 36 Home runs started the winning burst with a one oui single.
