Week of March from Taiwan alone there were More 200 companies directly represented with companies trom 39 other countries also presenting their latest products and technologies. The United states Pavilion had big and Little Compa pics showing their newest products. Needless to say a one Day visit Only scratched the surface. With so Many products and Compa Mes it was hard to focus on any one area of the computer Industry so we just walked and walked and walked. Every once in a while a flashy stand of an interesting display would grab our interest but All in All it was overwhelming. Printers were on Many stands and the 24-pin Printer is still very much alive and doing Well. There were still several 9-pin printers with color capabilities which beside being less costly do a presentable Job for Many users. Pro Hance technologies inc. Of Sunnyvale calif., grabbed our attention with a Small stand and an interesting product. The device is called Power track or pow mouse. The difference Between the two variations is that one has a mouse and the other a a nothing new about a mouse you say and you re right. The difference is that the pow Ettrack allows you to program a set of keys on the device with All the functions you will use on a program. This is also nothing new a there Are Macro capabilities on most programs that allow you to store key strokes on a single key to save time. But with Power track you can program the device to have the same general functions on the same keys no matter which program you Are using. Many program templates Are supplied with the device and it has a learn Mode to allow you to easily program the keys yourself. Apple computer had a big stand with the new line of macintosh computers on display. The Mac classic looks of but the Mac la really looks like a Winner As a lower priced Mac with All the Bells and whistles. We will try to talk More about these products later. Notebook pcs were everywhere. They Are computers that Are portable and the size of a Book. Texas instruments had the travel mate 3000 386sx notebook computer in the form of a Laptop with a folding triple super twist cd screen that is really portable. Acel systems of Taiwan had the ask iia notebook computer which simply had a base unit smaller than a Book 10 inches by 8 inches by 2-inches thick. The Acel computer said a 12 Mhz version with hard disk and 1 my of memory would be available for under $9u0. More on this when they Send the information.
