It has a reputation of being fast clean economical and integrated which Means you can use one ticket to travel by bus Tram or the trains. The a Bahn is the subway and runs mostly North and South with a few East West routes. Trains of the a Bahn also known As the Schnell Bahn run out to the surrounding Countryside in All directions and Cross Munich from the East and West with some routes also heading North and South. These two systems intersect at several Points in the City and Are convenient to trams and buses. Sounds complicated but it in t really. Here Are some routes that i be found to be fast and easily managed a from the Munich military housing area the most accessible is the s-2, which has a Stop near the Post Exchange. Get off at Hacke Brucke the first Stop after Haupt Bohnhof and you la be about 15 minutes North of the fest by foot. Or Transfer to the a Bahn system at Marie Platz. Here the u-6 or u-3 will take you to goeth Platz about a five minute walk to the oktoberfest. You can also Transfer from the s-2 at Karls Platz to the u-5 or u-4 a new line that May not be on some older maps to Theresie Wiese which puts you right at the front Gate. A if you have a car drive Over to the Giesing station which is about five minutes from Mcgraw Cavern. From Here not Only can you catch the s-1 of s-2, both which will take you downtown but the a Bahns Cross Here As Well. These run much More frequently than the a Bahns about every five minutes during Peak hours. The most direct route is to get onto any a Bahn m the direction Rich Tung of the Central station Haupt Bohnhof and Transfer to u-4 or u-5 to Theresie Wiese. Or Transfer at Sendlinger Tor to the u-3 or u-6 for goeth Platz. A if you happen to be staying at the Erding guest House s-6 will take you into the City.
